Living Abroad — long-term coverage for anyone overseas at least three months a year, with options for students, maritime crew, and missionaries.
Eligibility — U.S. residents age 95 and younger. Coverage must be purchased before you depart.
Does Medicare cover me outside the United States?
Generally no. Original Medicare pays for foreign care only in a few narrow situations, and most Medicare Advantage plans limit it to emergencies.
Is this the same as trip cancellation coverage?
No. Trip cancellation covers your money. This covers doctors, hospitals, prescriptions, and evacuation while you are abroad.

How late can I buy it?
Before you depart, up to one day before travel. You cannot start a new plan once you have left the country.
