Why independent matters
The big names you see on TV can only sell their own policies. The Jordan Insurance Agency is an independent agency in Charlotte, North Carolina, writing home, auto and umbrella coverage through Liberty Mutual, Travelers, National General and Chubb, with Progressive and Geico available as additional markets. We compare your coverage across those companies, tell you what you actually own and where it is thin, and re-shop it when your renewal jumps — at no cost to you.
✕A quick price quote
A quick quote is built to show you the lowest price. To get that price down, it cuts your coverage — and no one asks what your home would cost to rebuild or who else drives your car.
✓The Jordan Insurance Agency
We read the policy you already have, show you where it is thin, and shop several companies to fix it — sometimes telling you to keep what you’ve got. At no cost to you.
Who this page is for
A rate increase is a reason to look, not a reason to panic. We’ll tell you whether it is your policy, your company, or the whole North Carolina market.
Where to start →You have paid for this for years and never had anyone walk you through what you own. That conversation is free and takes about twenty minutes.
Where to start →We quote it bundled and unbundled, then show you both. Bundling usually wins. Not always, and we’ll say so when it doesn’t.
Where to start →Charlotte values have moved a long way. A dwelling limit set five years ago may not rebuild the house standing there today.
Where to start →Umbrella sits above your home and auto liability and is usually cheaper than people expect. We quote it alongside the rest.
Where to start →That is a legitimate reason to call. We will shop it honestly and tell you where the cheap policy gives something up.
Where to start →What we bring to it
We are independent, which means we do not work for an insurance company — we work for the person paying the premium. For home and auto in North Carolina we quote through Liberty Mutual, Travelers, National General and Chubb, with Progressive and Geico available when they are the better fit. That range matters for a practical reason: the company that suits a paid-off condo in NoDa is usually not the company that suits a Myers Park house with a slate roof, and neither is right for a driver with two at-fault accidents. One agency, one conversation, and we go find the one that fits.
The decisions, one at a time
This is not a sales presentation. It is a read-through of what you own, in the order that matters.
Bring the declarations pages for your current home and auto policies — the summary pages your insurance company sends at renewal. Almost nobody reads them, and they contain every number that decides what happens after a claim.
We go line by line. Dwelling limit, personal property, loss of use, liability, deductibles, and on the auto side your bodily injury and uninsured motorist limits. You will leave knowing what you own whether or not you ever buy anything from us.
The number that matters on a homeowners policy is the dwelling limit, and it is not your purchase price or your tax value. It is what it would cost to rebuild your house, at today’s labor and material prices, on the lot it already sits on.
Construction costs in the Charlotte area have risen in recent years, and dwelling limits often have not kept pace. This is the gap that hurts most, because it does not show up until you are already having the worst week of your life.
A higher renewal is usually not personal. North Carolina homeowners have seen real rate pressure, and auto has moved with repair costs. Before you switch, it is worth knowing whether your increase reflects the market, your own history, or a company repositioning.
Sometimes the right answer is to move. Sometimes it is to adjust a deductible and stay put. We will tell you which, and we do not earn more by moving you.
Putting home and auto with one company usually costs less than splitting them, and it simplifies a claim that touches both. Usually. It is not a law of nature, and there are households where the best home company and the best auto company are not the same one.
We quote it both ways every time and show you the two totals side by side. If splitting saves you money and you are comfortable with two companies, we will tell you that plainly.
An umbrella policy sits above the liability limits on your home and auto and picks up where they stop. Liability is the coverage nobody thinks about and the one that can follow you for years, and North Carolina minimum limits sit well below what a serious claim costs.
We ask about it on the first call, because an umbrella only works if the underlying home and auto limits are set high enough to support it. That is a conversation about how much you have to lose, not about what you drive. If it does not make sense for your situation, we will say so.
That is a fair position and we are not going to lecture you about it. We will shop it across our companies and give you the lowest number we can find.
What we will also do is tell you what that number gives up — the limit that got lowered, the deductible that went up, the coverage that came off. Then you decide with the facts in front of you. Plenty of people take the cheap policy on purpose, and that is a legitimate choice when it is a choice rather than an accident.

“Mr. Jordan patiently walked me through the entire process. The option I chose will save me $200 per month in my premium and it is a better policy than I had previously. I highly recommend Billy Jordan.”
“Outstanding customer service with super fast response time. Billy has helped me with landlord, renters, auto, and health. When my health carrier pulled out, he notified me a month in advance and found me a new plan. Highly recommend.”

Good to know
You reach an intake specialist trained on home and auto. They spend about fifteen minutes taking details on the house, the drivers and vehicles, your current limits, and whether an umbrella policy makes sense. We then quote it across our companies, and a licensed agent walks you through the results and answers coverage questions. You are not waiting on a calendar before anyone starts quoting.
Yes. You can schedule a call online and our intake specialist will call you at the time you pick. It reaches the same person and starts the same process as calling in. Our calendar offers times Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET, and the callback comes during those hours.
We write home, auto and umbrella coverage in North Carolina through Liberty Mutual, Travelers, National General and Chubb, with Progressive and Geico available as additional markets. Because we are independent, we quote across those companies and place your coverage with whichever one fits the house, the drivers, and the budget.
Nothing. We read your current home and auto policies and tell you what you own and where the gaps are, whether or not you buy anything. If we place coverage for you, we are paid by the insurance company you choose, not by you.
Usually, not always. Bundling typically earns a multi-policy discount and simplifies claims that involve both. But for some households the best home company and the best auto company are different, and splitting wins. We quote it both ways and show you both totals.
Not necessarily. North Carolina has seen broad rate pressure on both home and auto, so an increase often reflects the market rather than anything about you. The useful step is finding out which it is before you move, and that is exactly what the review tells you.
The most useful thing is a copy of your current home and auto policies — your declarations pages, or the full policy if you have it. That lets us review the details that actually determine your premium: your coverages and limits, the discounts already applied, the drivers in your household, and what is in the home. With those in hand we can give you a true, side-by-side comparison rather than a guess. This is not about pushing your price down for its own sake — if your current coverage is right for you, we will tell you it is not worth changing.
