Yes. Once you have Medicare Parts A and B through Social Security Disability Insurance, Medicare Advantage is open to you in Tennessee on the same terms as to someone who turned 65.
In Tennessee you have a real choice, not a default
Under Original Medicare alone you pay about 20% of each Part B service with no annual cap. There are two ways to put a ceiling on that. A Medicare Advantage plan must set a yearly maximum out-of-pocket for in-network care. A Medicare Supplement covers much of the 20% directly.
In most states the second route is difficult under 65, because federal law does not require insurers to offer it. Tennessee law does: any insurer selling Medigap to people 65 and over must offer the same plans to people under 65 who have Medicare because of a disability or ESRD. That is the broadest rule of the three states The Jordan Insurance Agency serves.
So in Tennessee the question is genuinely which structure suits how you use care — not which one you can get. A network-based plan with a hard annual ceiling, or Original Medicare with a Supplement that does not route you through a network. Neither is automatically right.
What to verify before you enrol
Medicare Advantage plans are generally network-based, so start with whether the doctors you intend to keep participate — checked one name at a time, not assumed from the hospital system or from last year. Bring your prescription list with doses as well.
If you also have TennCare, Tennessee has six Dual Eligible Special Needs Plans, all fully integrated with TennCare. See dual eligible in Tennessee.
When you can enrol
There is a window when your Medicare first starts. After that, the Annual Enrollment Period runs each autumn, and a Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period follows in the new year for people already in a plan. Certain life events open a Special Enrollment Period.
And at 65
Turning 65 opens a full Medigap Open Enrollment Period — six months starting the first month you are 65 and enrolled in Part B — and clears penalties from the disability years. Even in Tennessee, it is a natural point to re-shop. See Medicare before 65 on disability in Tennessee.
